Construction Order
The following points break down all the step you need to complete this project. However, please note that they only cover the basics!
Reminder that seam allowances are 1 cm wide, unless stated otherwise.
- Fuse the belt, fly shield and fly facing.
- Sew the pocket backings to the pocket linings.
- Assemble the front pockets. **You may need to stay-stitch the pocket openings before sewing the linings.
- Sew the back darts.
- Sew the side seams and inseams.
- Sew the crotch, leaving an opening above the front notch.
- Assemble the front fly and topstitch the crotch (front and back).
- Make the belt loops (turn to right side with the loop turner) and cut the two pieces in three to get six belt loops.
- Sew the belt loops to the waist (refer to markings for placement).
- Attach the belt. You can finish the inner edge of the waistband with bias tape. Also, use the โstitch in the ditchโ technique to sew the bottom of the waistband in place.
- Sew the remaining end on each loop to the top of the belt.
- Hem the bottom of the legs (turn once 3 cm).
- Add the button and buttonhole (see pattern for placement).
Good luck with your sewing project!
